Are You Psychic?

'' Very regularly people ask me the question ' Am I psychic? ' and assume that a psychic ability has to be inherited and unique to have. I am constantly answering this with ' yes you are. Everyone is!''

Everyone is not as tuned into his or her sixth sense as others but we all have it. Just like humans build their taste and touch senses to recognize foods and objects, their psychic reflexes are too. We are all born with intuition and a sense of perception that gives us the tools to foresee events before psychically witnessing them. Sometimes skeptics find it hard to believe that they have any psychic ability. However, I ask them;

‘ Have you ever thought of a friend you have not seen or heard from for a long time only to see them or hear from them within a day?’
‘Ever had the song you were humming instantly playing on the radio as soon as you turned it on?'

‘Have you ever driven and on your way to your destination you decide to take a route that you wouldn’t usually take only to find out later there was a traffic jam in the route you would usually take?'
‘Have you ever felt uneasy around a stranger only to find out that they are a con artist, unbalanced or abusive in some way?’

‘Have you ever felt something about someone or something only to have your gut feeling being proved later?’

For most of us, the crucial growth of our psychic awareness stems back to our early childhood. These are the years where our inhibitions are the weakest, the values of society are of no concern and imaginary voices and friends are encouraged and regarded as a tool for developing creativity. As we age, our impressionable nature leads us to believe customs that praise the scientifically proven instead of the unseen and foreseen. Humans are impressionable therefore; we end up suppressing the inner voices, friends and intuition.

Many people working in the spiritual field have experienced this suppression. Often a reawakening of psychic abilities occurs after conversing with like-minded individuals. Other times it occurs following feelings of spiritual emptiness and a craving for something beyond our psychical beings.

The three main things you can do to strengthen your sixth sense is let go, believe and sincerely love.

‘ Letting go’ I feel is the hardest step for most people to do when attempting to develop their psychic ability since it requires detaching from societies traditional reliance on the mind and accepting that the highest form of enlightenment comes from your deepest inner voice; your soul.

* I suggest meditation for developing this voice.  For this, you could sit down in a rested position while keeping your palms open.

* Once you feel rested pay attention to your feet and make sure, they are relaxed. As you slowly move up your focus to the top of your body continue make sure the rest of your body is relaxed too.

* Keep breathing at your normal pace. If you find it hard to focus, attempt to count every breath you take in and out.

* Do not judge anything that dwells in your mind. Just listen to your thoughts. This exercises aim is to have you unconditionally accept messages that come from your soul.

* Do this for up to ten minutes a day and your psychic sense should improve immensely.
Learning to ‘believe’ your self, the signals and voices that come through is the next step to helping your psychic awareness grow. ‘Believing’ in your self, the signals and voices that come through can be difficult since regularly a message does not seem to be relevant to you. However, it is important to remember that to someone else it may be. For example, as I was giving a reading for a client I had a vision of her father in a bright blue suit and a voice told me that she didn’t like that suit for whatever reason. When I mentioned this to her, her mouth dropped saying that her father had a favorite blue suit she disliked him wearing. Another voice told me that he was colorblind. Her mouth dropped again. I was right.

...So be open to all signs because you will not make an error if you trust your psychic self.
The final basic important point in becoming aware of your sixth sense is to love yourself, and others. This seems simple because it is.

Many people like to draw attention away from positive point of views with pessimism. Pessimisms attract doubt and despair. I tell others first step to completely engaging with others is to cut off any negativity energy created by yourself and others.

Before you can love yourself completely you must work on seeing beauty in all situations. I am not saying ignore feelings of despair and claim to be superman or superwoman. What I suggest is deal with negative feelings as a learning curve, but do not dwell on it in such a way that you overload it with more negative feelings. In some situations, it may be this may be extremely harder, but the more you focus on ‘how unfair life is’ you will dig a deeper ditch for yourself. The more you focus on things you have to be grateful for you will build more bridges towards self-love, therefore your psychic awareness too.

A way of developing full acceptance or more acceptance of yourself is to place your hand on your heart and say ‘I love myself. I deserve to love myself. I will love myself.’ a few times everyday. Do this on a daily basis and within a few days you should begin to feel confident and loved.

You have a wonderful soul that has a lot to give and the more you center yourself the more you will give yourself and others. Remember you cannot go wrong when you are working with love.

I find these are the three basic grounds for helping your psychic perception. Just as long as you let these activities simple, they should eventually become a habit, as should your psychic awareness. If you are uncertain at any point, remind yourself that your inner voice is waiting for you to listen.
